A great weekend!

After being housebound with Charlotte and her Chickenpox for nearly two weeks I finally got out last Friday Night. Her school held a trivia fundraising night and my mum and dad came up to stay with the girls and Russ and I got out alone - with NO kids!!!! I had so much fun, I love trivia, not that I am any good, but we did enjoy ourselves.

For the record our team came second last overall for the night, but Russ won the best prize of all! Just before the MC left he said he had three tickets to the Sirromet Food and Wine Festival and he asked a question. My DH got it right! Woo Hoo!

Kids were free, so on Sunday, my Mum, fellow school mum Janine, and I set of with Janine's two girls and my two girls. It was a great event. It would have been more fun with out the kids, but they were catered for as far as food and rides go.

There were hundreds of people there and the entertainment was awesome. "Street Performers" milling about, always someone on stage, lots of jazz, a glass of wine! Ahhhhh, next time we need to find a baby sitter!

It's True!

Chookyblue has been raving about a dessert she found here, called Chocolate Pudding Bar Recipe. Curiosity got the better of me and Charlotte and I made it today. Poor Charlotte is stuck at home with me with chicken pox.

I don't serve dessert every night but I did tonight and it was a BIG hit. (I had a little, shouldn't have as it contains cream and I am lactose intolerant but didn't want to miss out.) It is very sweet but my troops loved it.

Of course I did things a little different to the recipe, making do with what I had, but next time I will not improvise!

Never thought to take a photo, will do that for you tomorrow night!

Pay It Forward

I have signed up on Tami's blog for her pay it forward. Basically she will send a handmade gift to the first three people to leave a comment on her post. She has given herself 365 days to post them out!
As I signed up with her, I now will do the same thing. I have an idea of what I will do and what will post well, so I would like to offer a handmade gift to the first 3 people who sign up. Perhaps you could advise your colour preferences, I like as much info as possible, and also make sure I can get onto your email address from your comment! I won't take 365 days though, I will have forgotten about it by then! Then all you need to do is make the same offer on your blog!

Finally something quilty

I finished my blocks off for Julie in this round of the block swap. I am making Grandmother's Flower Garden and Friendship Star Variation for everyone, just in a different colour scheme each month. Julie requested pink, blue and lavendar with white on white. I wish I had taken photos of the blocks I made for Jo and Christina.

Fun at the show

The weekend before my computer woes started, we went to the Mudgeeraba Show. We met up with oue little friend Philadelphia and her parents. The three girls get on so well together.

They had so much fun, fairy floss, ice creams, camel rides, jumping castles, swings, puppets shows and the baby farm animals.

I have been tagged...........

I have never been tagged before and always thought it would be nice to be high on someone's list that I would get tagged by them so thank you Chookyblue I thought I would be so much happier about this than I am. I love blogging about my family and life, but to contradict all that, I like the anonymity that cyber space provides!

A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.

B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog....

So here it goes.......

1. I have a deformed right hand. I was brought up with the attitude that it won't be a problem unless you make it a problem. I love my mum for that.

2. I love food, reading about it, cooking, EATING. But I get bored with cooking dinner evernight. It has to be different and interesting for me to be bothered with it. I am married to a meat and veg kinda guy, so every so often I have to serve peas and mash on the side to keep a happy house hold!
3. I tend to clean in my pyjamas. Unlike the fly lady, if I get up and get dressed then I am unlikely to achieve as much. Once the work is done I can shower and get dressed and I am ready for the day.

4. I have three colours of pegs for the clothes line. I like to use one colour per load of washing. I don't like different coloured pegs on the same line so each load starts a new line. I fold at the line, so if I don't have time to fold it all and bring it in I leave it out!

5. I used to scuba dive in my single days and have been on a shark feeding dive ( I wasn't the shark food!), deep dives, night dives.

6. I am an only child. I never thought I would have children when I was growing up. I never had anything to do with babies or young children until my oldest was born. She is now 5 and a half. Having my two daughters is the best thing that has happened in my life.

7. We live on a man made lake. I LOVE the lake. It is always beautiful to look at. I love the sunsets reflected in it. This time of year we have two black swans that visit. During the year we have ducks, swans and pelicans but never at the same time. (In the photo the swans look a bit brown, but that is the sun reflecting off them. More to do with my photography skills!)

8. I love to travel and have seen quite a bit on the world - Hong Kong, China, Japan, West Coast of the US, UK, Central and Eastern Europe and little of Scandinavia. Now I think it time to see more of my own country.

Well if you read this far, you have done well!

Now who do I tag? Not sure if I can come up with 8 people! How 'bout

That's is 6, I will leave comments on your blogs but if you have done it before or don't want to, don't worry!

Dora Birthday Cake

Chanel wanted a chocolate Dora cake for her birthday, so I put it off until her family party on Sunday. This was the best I could do. It looked more like Dora before I put the face on! Lol.

Both girls blew out the candles......

Miss Chanel turned 3!

Last Thursday was Chanel's birthday and she turned 3.
We bought her a bike and took her shopping on Wednesday afternoon. She was so excited.

We went to mum and dad's for lunch on Thursday, had a small birthday dinner at home that night and then Nanny Val came up for the weekend and we did it all again on Sunday!

Computer woes!

My 'puter suffered the dreaded blue screen of death last week. DH has got it all working for me again so I have some posts to catch up on. We have had a busy time lately and I actually took some photos!
