Thank You Tazzie!!!!

Recently Tazzie and I had an email conversation regarding her Dear Jane's (plural - she is working on her second!).

Anyway, to cut the story short I sent her some info relevant to our conversation and look at what I got in the mail!

Thanks so much Tazzie! Two DJ coasters and some fabric (I am guessing for my own quilt? Not yet started of course!)
Now Tazzie suggested that these would help me think DJ thoughts at coffee time.....
But seeing it is Friday night, that is wine time!

Works for me!

Thanks so much Tazzie, I love them!

Today's Sunset

It's been awhile since I have taken sunset photos. Now I hate to skite but here in paradise, this time of year, they don't vary that much.

BUT, at the moment in parched South-east Queensland, specifically on the north end of the Gold Coast, we have been getting regular rain! February weather in February - who'd figure? I did read something recently (now don't quote me, my recollection is vague, but) we are leaving an El Nino weather pattern and entering another pattern called (I can't remember) but contains more than average rain! Let's hope so! We are on Level 4 water restrictions here. No matter how much rain does come I can't see the restrictions lifting.

Anyway, I digress! Today's sunset includes clouds!!! Now I think I have mentioned before Queensland's catch cry from the past was "Beautiful one day, perfect the next", but now that cloud cover brings rain - we're loving it!!!! Another change is the palm trees are 'in flower'. See they have a creamy white bead type 'flower' appearing just below the frond. In the past DH always wants to remove it before it drops all over the ground, but I like the new dimension it brings.

DH's Weekend

This weekend please send your good luck and vibes to my DH Russ and his business partner Al. DH's hobby the past few years has been motorsport, specifically Holden Geminis.

(Poor me, remember we have two young daughters).

This year he joined forces with his mate Al and they have created racecarleasing.com (check out the website as there is a little video of race car footage that is awesome!).
This weekend is the first meet for the year and they will have three race cars at the track leased by paying customers!
Russ has been working night and day as well as running his own business which is his day job and our livelihood.
Good luck this weekend Russ, hope it all goes smoothly!!!
He leaves tomorrow morning. The girls and I have always gone along when Russ is racing but this time as he is 'Team Boss' we are staying home out of the way.

Suduko - The Verdict

Thanks for the comments I received regarding the BRIGHT suduko. It has grown on me, I think the problem is all those bright colours in one wall hanging.

I have made it for my friend Loretta and her response was "While it is not something that I might have picked, I actually don't mind it". That's good enough for me!
(Of course it is not finished but it will be soon :)

Loretta turns 40 on Saturday so Happy (early) Birthday for Saturday Loretta!!!!!
The photo is her at Charlotte's 4th birthday in 2005.

Warning Bright Suduko!

Told you it was bright. There will be black binding to add the final frame. The top photo show the colours best.

Loretta tell me the truth.

Elaine and Lynette I think you are very brave!!!

Thanks, Jodie

Reminicing.....

Ohhhh, how cute are they? This is my two little girls when the really were little girls! In this picture Chanel is about 4 months and Charlotte under three. I had so many copies of this photo done and still ended up without one for myself. Now we have the technology so I borrowed mum's copy and made one for me.

I sewed today, for the first time in awhile and I think the outcome is quite horrendous! Loretta's Sudoku wallhanging. I am emailing her pictures to see what she thinks and then will decide whether to continue! I still like the idea but tried to work in brights (outside my comfort zone) and I just don't like it!

Have spent tonight re-arranging the sewing/computer/guest room. Much more workable for DH and I. I have brought in a trestle table for our computers and printer, so the original desk I can now use for sewing machine and now I have a scrapbooking space. I even have leg room now!

The ironing board is now out in the entry way, which is so NOT ideal, but I am working on it!!

The Godfather

Last Sunday we went to the christening of little Olivia Amy, at St Mary's in Brisbane. Olivia is the daughter of our friends Emma and Gordie (left of photo) and my DH Russ was given the honour of being Godfather (far right).
After the service they took us all to the Stamford Brasserie for a delicious seafood smorgasbord lunch.
