"W"

Today's scatterday is "W". I will be honest I found this week the hardest I have done. Harder than Q! So I have been a bit 'creative' but I guess that is allowed.

Black things - Wet weather gear, my black drizabone coat. I did actually photograph it out in the rain and if you look closely there are rain drops on the leaves in the photo

Tools - Whisks (kitchen tools). I did think of wrench but DH says he doesn't have one.

Games - Whoosit. I photographed in on the shelf in Target, no idea what the came is about.

More Swap Blocks

Well I have sent out all my blocks, but I still have some to come in. Today I got these two from Bonijo in the US, she is a little cheeky, how cute us the Koala fabric.....

and then this Carousel pony, look closely it is all embellished...

This is my layout so far. I made the block bottom centre, and will need to make one more to make up 12 blocks once they are all in.

BTW this is, my 98th post!

Posh Camping

Don't let the title fool you!
It is the first week of the school holidays and we spent the weekend camping with a few other families. We called it posh camping because we stayed in these cabins with bunk beds, but man the bunks were uncomfortable! We we would have been better off if we stayed in our tent.

We weren't that far out of town so we ladies went to a local herb farm and then stopped at a tea house. I didn't have a tea or a coffee, but I couldn't resist a photo of this cheeky magpie helping himself to some leftover devonshire tea. He actually has cream all over his beak.

We had an open fire and the kids toasted marshmallows, first time I have had then when they weren't charcoal.

My poor old faithful hiking boots bit the dust during the walk home from the nursery. The sole came completely off. Russ had some fragile tape in the back of his truck. Kinda summed the whole thing up really.

I took lots of photos but they have the other kids in them aside from my own so think it best not to post them here.

The school fete was a huge success!

We all had a great day last Sunday. The weather was very kind to us. Unofficial reports are the school and parish made up to $50,000! We didn't win anything. Went in lots of raffles, the cent auction. There was a chocolate wheel, art auction, cake stall, sweet stall, craft stall, preloved clothes and lots of rides and the only photos I have are of the girls on the ferris wheel and they had only just got on and weren't too sure of it. I had put the camera away by the time they were smiling and waving from the top!

My cake sold just after the stall opened so I hope the purchaser enjoyed it!

Especially for Chooky Blue

Donna has been helping me re-vamp my Blog. She re-sized the photo in my banner for me, and gave me some constructive comments throughout the process. Thanks for that! It is still not just right, but I am getting there.
Now if you are a regular reader over at Donna's blog you will know firstly that her camera died this week. On this I truly commiserate as I would be lost without mine, but secondly they desperately need rain for this seasons crops.

She has a suggestion on her blog now, that seeing as she can't post any photos, send her some of your own.
While I am not actually sending these to her, they are especially for her.

Storms forecast tonight........

Grey Skies, thunder and even a bit of lightening..........

and this much rain!

Hope you feel a bit better, you are not the only one missing out!
Thanks Again!

A 'puter of my very own!

Look at me!

Cheesy grin!

What does this bit do?

Ok yes, she is only three years and two months old but as the only member of the family without a computer of her very own, Chanel was feeling decidedly left out!

Daddy built it, so it is not as extravagant and it may appear. So what can she do with it? Play the seahorse race game of course!

So What's in the Box?

Ohhhh

"Q"

Today is my first Scatterday. Fancy starting with the letter "Q"!

Ok here goes.......

Something Musical - Quavers, not original, but hey! The photo is of music flash cards, quaver, two quavers and a quaver rest. My daughters' music teacher thought this was a lot of fun!

Clothing - A Queensland State of Origin Tshirt. Hope that is not cheating. I think living in Qld is a distinct advantage this week. Should point out that we all go for NSW in this Queensland household come State of Origin time!

Something Square-ish - The "Quad" at my daughters school.

Thanks Michelle for letting me join in! I have had a lot of fun with this.

PS Next week.... "B" - My Favourite Things, Big Things and Shop

This morning's walk

I went walking this morning with one of the mum's from school. We walked along the boardwalk on Marine Parade. I got there first so I walked the walk at a comfortable pace and took some photos, then when she arrived we power walked.

It is a perfect day here in paradise not a cloud in the sky.

A Father's Day Portrait

Ok so what did he get? A bottle of Kilkenny Cream and some Chocolate Truffles.

A new Touring Atlas of Australia. His old one features in the photo and is the reason he got a new one! And here are my three wise monkeys... Hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil... I wish!

My Swap Blocks are finished.......

Like most bloggers I read a lot of blogs and I have been a little down lately on how little I complete. Honestly I make quilt blocks at the rate some of you make entire quilts! None the less I continue on and I am happy to have caught up on this swap. I will get these in the mail in the next few days. Then I need to start on two Pay It Forward gifts and Secret Santa!

The first are for Bonijo. I helped out another participant who was a bit snowed under and made an extra two this time.

Next is blue and white for Christina. I posted her Grandmother's flower garden off some time ago and the picture I have pinched from her album.

The final two are for Rosemary.

Sunrise, Sunset, Father's Day and Birthday FQs

Whew, what a tittle!

We have had a couple of nights away at DSIL's cottage in Mapleton. I blogged photos taken around Mapleton back in January this year (can't seem to set up a link but it was on the 2nd if you are interest). Friday was a public holiday for the Gold Coast Show so we took off for two nights of RnR. I took NO photos while we were away. I didn't do much at all. I haven't felt well all week, very tired so I took it easy. SIL and the girls had a lot of fun in the park, wish I had sent my camera along.

Now I have blogged in the past about sunsets and the photo above was taken tonight, but I did have an opportunity for a SUNRISE photo today. SIL had to be at the station by 6am to catch the train to the international airport. I drove her down the range at 5.30am in the dark and as I was returning I ALMOST stopped off at the lookout to take some photos. Sorry but I was tired, so I kept driving and I went back to bed when I got to her place! (I did say I haven't been feeling well!) I am sorry now, though, so won't let the opportunity slip by next time.

Tomorrow is father's day here in Oz and Charlotte is very excited. ( I know the photo is very yellow, no flash and I didn't want to get caught by Russ so I didn't re-shoot). We have all of Daddy's presents prepared. Some purchased, some made at school and kindy - they are the most special. Tomorrow is all about him. Eggs for breakfast, BBQ lunch and dinner with my parents. More pictures tomorrow.

Finally, my birthday just keeps on keeping on. More FQs arrived this week.
