Isn't this lovely?

Was DH's birthday during the week and his sister that lives in Japan sent him this fruit and flower box. So nicely presented (and a little difficult to photograph). There were some huge red grapes tumbling over on the right hand side but DH polished them off. Guess he is allowed to since it was sent to him. I scored the little crate though. Too cute. Will look good on my book shelves filled with some treasure!

Cute Little Tote Bag No. 4

This one is for my cousin's daughter. They are visiting this weekend from Canberra and the little recipient is only a few months older that DD1. They have only met once before and that was before DD2 was on the scene.

(Colours are all off in the picture. The bag is more vibrant. Looks like there is a blue filter over the picture above.)

10-9 Selling the Livestock

Ok, I know I said I was going to bed, but I couldn't leave on a downer. Here is my 4th block. Yes a simple 9 patch called Selling the Livestock. I like simple 9 patches!!!

I am off to the land of nod. Sleep well.

3-5 Bitter Enemy

I should have gone to bed after block two. Stuffed this one up totally.

I have assembled it the wrong way, also it wasn't 6.5" finished, I trimmed it down into a block and it is only 6" square. So I can't even unpick it and fix up the arrangement.

Oh well, that 'ill teach me.

11-2 United No Longer

My first block in the Civil War Diary Quilt!

Row 11-2 United No Longer.

Just showed it to DH and he thinks it looks better than the one in the book!! Bless Him.

Thank you so much Peg - you know why.

I have learnt A LOT with this block. It has a lot of frog stitch in it. My first ever foundation piecing. GREAT for lining up points, once you know what you are doing.

Ok, that is one down, how many left to go?

Bon Appetit!

I have been a busy bee in the kitchen today, Cottage pie, Taco mince and Tuna pasta. That is gnocchi on top of the cottage pie instead of mashed potato. Saw that recently on Fresh. Used my usual savoury mince recipe rather than theirs but pinched the gnocchi idea. Hope my lot like it, super easy.

And then to freeze for lunch boxes in the coming weeks, piklets, banana muffins and banana cake. Everything is washed up and put away. I have earned some sewing time tonight.

Nundle, a final wrap up....

Yes I am behind the times, and I know there have been sooooo many Nundle posts, but this should be the end of it from me!!
This was my little bounty of goodies upon arrival - Bag of projects and more, my name tag and my mug.....

Next are my purchases from Kerry's shop.... modest I know,

Then on the day, Leanne signed my Romancing the Road Trip book for me, I won the "Love is" pattern book, I purchased Kerry's Blackberry Jam and Cream, and I have pre-ordered Rosie's new book - can't wait to see what it looks like, and she promised to sign it for us.

This was Leanne's project for the day...... she did it in redwork, but we had the opportunity to pick a different colour and I chose green. Progress since returning from Nundle? Uhmmm....

And Rosie's project on the day was an applique cushion cover. Progress on that? Uhhmmmm.. yes there it is all still in the plastic. I will get it done, but I will change some of the fabrics.....make it more suitable to my home colour scheme.

The road to Nundle.....

Ok, there has naturally been a lot of posts this week about the awesome time had by all in Nundle. So just to make it a little different I thought I would share some photos of the surrounding countryside.

Firstly, this is the exit off the New England Hwy that you DO NOT want to take. Very pretty country side but the road is very rugged! Although I must admit the claim that at this point you are 39kn from Nundle turned out to be very true! Just a long slow 39km!

This shot is the beautiful scenery you find yourself surrounded by if you get onto the wrong road! See every cloud has a silver lining!

The next two shots were taken on my journey OUT of Nundle on the correct road, that brought me back to the New England Hwy north of Tamworth. These are of Chaffey Dam. At 9.30am on the Sunday morning it was soooooo still.

Enjoy.

Good times......

I have borrowed this photo from Chookyblue (with permission) of all us bloggers with Leanne and Rosie at the Girls Day in the Country in Nundle this past weekend.

I have downloaded my photos but I haven't really sorted them. So for the time being this one is the proof I was there!

It was such a great event, and hopefully the first on many. I think I am over the drive home.... all eight and a half hours of it!

To all the new friends that I made, thank you soooooo much for making it so much fun.
