Scones

I made my first ever batch of scones yesterday. Very easy to mix together. Here they are ready to go in the oven

Here they are straight out of the oven

And here is one piping hot with jam... yum.

I have never really been a scone fan. Have always thought them a bit dry. These were luscious and moist and mmmmmmm. Might have to make some more today!

Arts and Craft Day

Yesterday was a public holiday here for the Queen's Birthday. The girls and I declared it arts and craft day. They both had a beading set they were just bursting to turn into necklaces and bracelets.

After our beading session and after removing one yellow round bead from DD2's nose (Yes, I am serious, she put it up there so her sister couldn't get it), and cleaning up the ensuing bloody nose (sorry if that is too much info) we did some papercraft. Documenting the recent fish caught in the lake and the day's jewellery making. Unfortunately our printer haemorrhage and we can't print any photos until it is repaired. So we have left space to stick them in later.

Time to think.....

My mum and dad had the girls for 24 hours starting from lunch time yesterday!! Woo Hoo. DH and I went to the movies and saw the latest Indiana Jones movie. We enjoyed it. We don't get out often alone so that definitely had something to do with the entertainment level. We picked up some Thai Takeaway on the way home and settled in for the night.

I went to sleep at 9.15pm and I awoke at 6.50am!! With only one minor interruption to let the dog out in the wee small hours. I cannot remember the last sleep like that I have had. So I awoke raring to go. DH was still sleeping soundly, so what to do?

Make lists! That's what! Started going through my photos and outlining scrapbook pages I want to do. Then moved on to sewing projects. Have listed them all on the side of my blog. To summarise 41 single page scrapbook layouts and 11 2 page layouts. 9 sewing projects. Can I do it? Probably not! I won't knock myself out. I haven't included the Civil War Blocks as that will be a WIP for years to come.

I have made a start though, one (very basic) 1 page layout of a camping trip last year! Gotta start somewhere!
