Saturday Harvest

Yes, I am getting carried away by today's title, but we are all a wee bit excited with our pot of beans and our pot of cherry tomatoes. I am still watering these every day! That in itself is a big deal 'cause I tend to forget details like that.
While I knew we had flowers on the bean plant, I hadn't noticed we had BEANS!

Our Cherry tomato plant is full of tiny green tomatoes, only a few are ripe enough to eat.

garden update

very uncharacteristically, things are growing well in the garden. I am trying to do the companion planting thing to reduce bugs and creepy crawlies, although despite planting strawberry plants at the base of our bean, something is munching on some bean leaves.

this bean plant came home from school, you know the seed on the cotton wool in the plastic cup? well it sprouted so we stuck in the pot!

we even have a little (rather sickly looking) flower.

now onto our cherry tomatoes. the little guy didn't make it, but the others are thriving. this pot is in a high wind location so they are surviving despite the elements.

lots of little yellow flowers and even some little green tomatoes. Happily companioned with basil.

and some garlic chives just beside.

these are some new additions acquired at the recent school fete.

sage, thyme, rosemary, 2 x lavender, mint and oregano.

I would like to start gardening in the ground, but with these pots just outside the door, there is a better chance of me remembering to water them.
