Lest we forget......

Today is ANZAC Day.
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
Anzac Day is a national public holiday in Australia and New Zealand and is commemorated by both countries on April 25 every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War 1. Anzac Day is also observed in the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa and Tonga.

They shall not grow old,
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.
{From the poem by Laurence Binyon}
LEST WE FORGET.

Last year I shared my photos taken at ANZAC Cove, Turkey, taken back in 1994.
I don't really have a photo to go along with this post today. Later today I will post some Anzac Biscuits we made. Just doesn't seem appropriate on this post.
