life on the lake
I know most of my posts are about my wooleater here on the blog, but most of my photos are still of sunset on the lake.
Sent from my Garmin-Asus phone.

Out takes of a self portrait
Over on the Snappy Friends Blog we were set the Challenge to take a self
portrait. I am so far behind in our challenges I had no intention of
attempting this one.
The sunset and clouds were reflecting in the lake this afternoon so I
ventured out to take a pic.
as I was walking back inside, there I was reflected in the glass door.
hmmmmm, maybe this would work as a self portrait?
I should try and get one with my face showing
a bit far away, if I just zoom in a bit.....
oops, too high.
blurry,
a bit low.
almost!
there I am, shot 25, this will have to be the one!!
Lol. Pop over and see the others, some of them are very inventive!Saturday, June 05, 2010

taking the time to exhale
It is February 4th. Can you believe it? We have already completed one month of 2010 and are 4 days into the next one.
It is still hot and humid here. We have had some rain on and off so the grass is greening up.
School is in full swing. Miss P had swimming trials today and the carnival is at the end of the month. Little Sis LOVES school and delights us each afternoon with the goings on from class.
The whirl of everyday life fills our days and there doesn't seem to be many kodak moments. As I look over my recent photos nothing seems suitably 'blogable' but then I turn to my lake and it never lets me down.
Here's to quiet moments and the chance to exhale. (but only for a moment, now back to it!)

January 5
5 days into January already!!
How did that happen?
was anyone really taking notice?
So far January, 2010 has been quite uneventful. The 100% humidity hours have been broken up by lots of rain, and sometimes even cooling breezes.
I went outside tonight to shoot the sunset and how long the grass has grown since New Year and Tess the Wonderdog thought I wanted to play.
She brought over her GREEN kong, that you can't spy in the long grass, and all I wanted to do was snap away, not play!
she voiced her displeasure!!!
Then I won her over, as always!!
Happy Januarys to you.

12, 13, 14
It has been so hot and steamy here, for what feels like forever! This sunset is actually from Friday 11th but I like the effect. It was cool in the house from the air con, and steamy outside, so as soon as I walked out the lens fogged over. I cleared it, but the pics still seemed to have a eeriness to them.
The on the 13th this is where we found our pesky reindeer Meteor. He comes to life at night when the girls are asleep and then hides so they have to find him!
Sunday (13th) also involved defrosting the freezer. Such a fun job, not! So yesterday (14th) I made some banana muffins with the black bananas I had stashed in the freezer for just such a purpose. Two left this morning. They are good!

So after a full day of moving and unpacking a calming sunset was the perfect finish to the daylight hours. Been awhile since I have photographed the lake.

So what makes a great day?
Defrosting the freezer?
I think not! I actually wish I had taken a before photo.... it was BAD.
Rain?
Well in this day and age I guess it does. We aren't so draught ravaged here now, but some good soaking rain is never a bad thing. (How hard is it to photograph rain? You can just see it on the road)
The sunset after a rain storm?
Duh!!!! I love a good sunset, and this afternoon's was pretty special!
Gifties in the mail?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
Recently I won a giveaway on Janelle Wind's blog and it was waiting for me today at the post box. Look how beautifully it was packaged!
And here it is....... "Holly and Rainbows"
I am a big fan of Janelle's work, both stitching and scrapbooking. I love her use of colour and crisp clean lines. Thank you so much Janelle! It was a perfect way to the end the day.

Just 10 mins later
7.00pm and it is looking a little more threatening, but very beautiful (jmho). Thunder is starting to roll.
